Not certain that this is an activity that I would recommend bringing the children. I have done some shallow dives. Spoken to a few dive shops where they give lessons. Hoping that my eustachian tubes clear, thus allowing me to participate in such activities.
The Eustachian tubes connect the middle ears to the back of the throat ((Nasopharynx). The tubes help the ears drain fluid from the ear. Clear tubes allow air pressure to equalize with what comes in the nasal passages. Thus keeping air pressure in the middle ears at the proper level. Fluid in the middle ear sounds like listening to voices under water, Too much pressure in the middle ear the ear drum (tympanic membrane ) bulges, too little pressure: the ear drum is concave. Painful if different from the norm.
